And to think things like this happen everyday…Seems like we would learn how to drive safetly, with what happens…
I am a Paramedic in St. Louis, Missouri. Unfortunatly, these things do happen on a regular day, and St. Louis isn’t even one of the worse cities. I can’t stress to people the importance of safe driving. I have lived through a bad accident.
When I was 20 years old, I fell asleep at the wheel. I had been working a lot of hours, and thought I could make it. Well I was wrong. I was not wearing my seatbelt at the time, which was odd, because I always have/do. I woke up heading towards the median alongside the highway, and swerved. I remember spinning, trying to regain control. Then it flipped several times. I remember seeing the ground, and it lasted forever. I was ejected out the driver’s side window. It was then that I lost consciousness. I woke up in the back of the helicopter, being flown to a Level 1 Trauma Center. They did X-Ray after X-Ray after CT Scan after CT Scan….and found nothing. Somehow, by some miracle, I survived with no broken bones. The only injury I suffered from was a 1 inch cut in the back of my head, treated with 3 staples. My truck was in 2 pieces, seperated at the bed and cab. There was no longer a roof on the truck cab. The back seat of the cab was filled with swords and weapons I used for reenacting.
I have since given up questioning why I survived. It just wasn’t my time to go. But I do wonder why I wasn’t hurt more. It was because of that accident that I joined EMS. I know what its like.
Yes, the picture is entrancing…maybe even a little exciting. But just remember, he didn’t plan on going out and dying that day, so please, be respectful.

Wow that is really scary. And to think of all the times that i drive without my seatbelt. Really Scary.
I, too, am from St. Louis, MO and I have known 2 people very close to me that have died from fatal accidents due to Alcohol consumption. It is all too sad! I had thought of entering the forenzics field or becoming a paramedic myself, but after viewing these photos I have definately changed my mind. I can’t imagine that the families know that these pictures are posted on the internet-too tragic…

i work for fire rescue and have seen accidents like this, its good to show people the reality of impacts and how metal and flesh are violently destroyed. bless all those lost. wear seatbelts

I just feel for the family who had to see their loved one like this…I hope they chose not to and the EMT or funeral home or whatever said to them they wouldn’t want this image in their head….I am so thankful it wasn’t me! But it could be…..I got stopped speeding at 100mph and as my own punishment, I have began to look at some photos of what might have happened to me. Thank you for saving my life.

I am a firefighter and I can’t believe that there is such a demand for people wanting to see this type of trauma to a human body. It’s sad people, just sad! Where are the pictures of the family members being sedated by paramedics because they can’t cope with reality of what they are seeing or the fact that their brother, son, dad, daughter, sister, mom are gone forever and there remains are totally destroy beyond reconigtion. Lose the thirst for gore and feed your brain’s with something constructive, please. These are not nice calls to have to attend, believe me.
i just wish everyone would think before they get behind the wheel. think about what they are gonna do, and pray for a safe trip.
I work as a claims adjuster an can tell you first hand, driving is no joke. I see so many sad pics that come to us from the fire dept or police dept after an accident - I just don’t understand why people drive like such idiots with no regard for themselves or others.. buckle up and drive defensively cause you never know what fool is travelling along with you on the road.

ok. guys this is what I fear the Most. I am so scared that on my way to work something like this might happen to all those people that are in a hurry to get to where they need to go, drivingnlike maniacs … and I see so much people driving so fast and kids in the back w/out seat belts. I wish we can show this to people like that and make them realise the risks we are in everyday specially when we are on the road.
