I was a paramedic for 10 yrs. I put many bodies in a body bag during my days as a medic. So, speaking from first hand experience....here is my view. Yes, helmets save lives. As medics, we used to refer to riders who rode without helmets as organ donors. Yes, that sounds cruel. But, we all saw it over and over again. Will a helmet always save you? NO.... a lot of bikers die from broken necks. Unless there is severe internal trauma....they can usually fix everything except your brain.
Seatbelts saving lives? Yep...they do also. I always tell people the statistics that I saw. I put at least 100 people in body bags who were not wearing a seatbelt in their vehicle. I only cut a seatbelt off of a dead body twice. That says a lot. Also, with airbags in conjunction with a seatbelt...your chances of living through a major accident is pretty good.
With all of this being said....I do have one more belief. I saw many terrible accidents in which the people should have died but were walking around at the scene. I also saw accidents that were pretty minor and the people died. So...I truly believe that no matter how skilled your caregiver is (medic, nurse, doctor) there is someone way above us making the final decision. That was the only way I could emotionally deal with the death that I saw.
For those of you who don't believe in seatbelts or helmets...my final thought. If I could hook up a wire from my brain to yours and show you the pictures I still have in my head....you may look at things differently.
Thanks all....and God bless you.

I don't understand your website layout. Thumbnails should be links--you seem to have multiple thumbnails on each page that are unrelated to the larger pictures. I spent about 2 minutes here and moved on.

like some one said before me, they may not all have been on drugs or drunk but thier stupidity with out it is enough, but drugs and alchohal can only mke things worse.

also stupidity is not the word that i should use because its not the drivers fault all the time, somethingt jusmps out on the road, driver hits it and its blamed on them because they couldnt react fast enough. what can i say? accidents happen.
